Grubba's world

As the title says, this is MY WORLD. Anything that goes through my head could possibly end up in this blog. I'm not trying to make anyone laugh, cry, or elicit any reaction. Hell, let's be honest... "blog" is 21st century speak for "diary." Enjoy.

Long Weekend (Vol. II)

Quote of the weekend: "No. Nuh-uh.... Oh wait... was she a great big fat person?"

I love a road trip as much as the next guy. Despite the sad circumstances of this past weekend's and the 24-hour turnaround, I wish I could go either home or somewhere new most every weekend.

So I put in six hours at the poker table today, and turned a net profit of $6... took a bad beat to get knocked out of the City Championship (AJ suited v. J10 off), so no WSOP buy-in.... then a friendly $20 buy-in cash game, made some good plays, no glaring bad ones, and just had some lousy cards. C'est la vie.

I'm still planning on heading out to NYC for the Big East Tournament, though plans on lodging are still very much in flux. We shall see how that plays out... I'm not above sleeping in the car... lol. I'm also up for a trip to Atlantic City.. maybe as part of the NY swing (should Pitt not be in the final), or later in March. Anyone who cares to comment, offer lodging, possibly come along... well, you know how to get my attention.

To go back to a topic from Vol. I, it's amazing how so many people I talk to are being entertained by curling at the Olympics. It would be fun to try... anyone know of a good place to curl?

Lastly, anyone who hasn't watched "The Boondocks" on Cartoon Network (Adult Swim), is really missing out. It's right up there with Family Guy, Futurama, Aqua Teen, etc. for hilarity, and is also the most topical/satirical show on. It's like South Park with fewer fart jokes. I give it my highest recommendation.

Thanks to everyone who was there this weekend, both Friday night and at the funeral Saturday... the whole family appreciates it.
